The vision was born out of the practical inefficiencies they themselves experienced in their broad and prolonged participation in traditional medical exchange and international relief activities. Their belief was that existing technologies and practices could be harnessed, or better harnessed, to serve the particular and custom needs of each country and program effort objective. Furthermore, this should result in drastically reducing travel time, scheduling demands and complications for such highly trained and valuable personnel, and reduce travel costs.
